Dr. Who: Gridlock 04.15.2007
I really liked the premise of the episode. The idea of a whole culture and way of living developing in an endless traffice jam in a giant aerial highway megastructure is really, really appealing.
In many ways, I’d have rather they kept the people in the gridlock from escaping. It’s a very fascinating thing to think about — an endless traffic jam in a road going in circles — that the final outcome, when they escaped into the over world, was kind of underwhelming.
In fact, I think that would be pretty interesting science fiction short. A perpetual highway, vehicles traveling for all eternity.
